2024 UPDATE! An anti-bullying week 2024 lesson focused around the theme ‘Choose Respect’. Includes editable PowerPoint, worksheets, clip tasks, activities, (all differentiated three ways). The lesson focuses on the importance of respect in relation to both bullying and successful interpersonal relationships. This could be used over a week of Tutor Time, or as a one-off, one-hour lesson. Students will be introduced to different ways of easily showing respect in a variety of relationships and settings, complete a variety of tasks and watch official anti-bullying week 2024 clips with questions and answers included. They will assess exactly what we mean when we talk about respect, and explore how respect can help us combat bullying. Everything is editable, so easy to adapt for your own PSHE planning. For the Gatsby Careers Guidelines - A careers assembly lasting around 20-25 minutes (including short clip) with a focus on why Careers Education is so important and how students can make the most of all the opportunities presented to them whilst in school. The assembly examines the cases of two fictional ex-students, Alisha and Jack, who didn’t take Careers Education seriously and ended up paying the price for it by adding years on to their lives in the time it took them to eventually find their ideal jobs. Students will explore the difference between short-term, healthy and normal anxiety (in response to intimidating situations such as exams) and chronic, long-term anxiety disorders. They will discover how the brain changes in response to long-term anxiety, how this can be healed and the best ways to prevent anxiety from becoming chronic, suitable for KS3 or KS4. An assembly all about the impact that random acts of kindness can have. It explores why we need to be kind to each other, the effect small acts can have on our family, friends and the wider communities and in turn our own emotional wellbeing. The assembly lasts around 20 minutes, including a short clip. As part of the assembly you will need to place three Post-Its randomly where the children will sit. You will be calling those three students who sit on a Post-It up to give them a small gift (perhaps a tube of Smarties).You will then ask them questions about how they feel - this is to show the impact of an act of kindness when people aren’t expecting it (which scientists have shown to have more impact than if they are). The assembly is very easy to follow (and has additional teacher notes in the slide-notes of the PowerPoint). It is also editable.
